The Labour Law Institute (“Instituto de Direito do Trabalho” – IDT) was created in 2000, when a «School of Labour Law» was under development at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (“Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa”), for which, after Raúl Ventura’s pioneering work, the studies of António Menezes Cordeiro and Pedro Romano Martinez contributed significatively.
IDT has sought to promote the study and investigation of Labour Law and related areas, through the organization of postgraduate courses, conferences and workshops, and the promotion of publications in these fields.
