Este texto tem como objecto a obra laboralista de Raúl Ventura (1919-1999), Professor da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa e pioneiro do ensino e estudo do Direito do Trabalho em Portugal, abrangendo a análise quer da sua tese de doutoramento (1944), quer dos textos destinados ao ensino (Lições e Sumários), quer dos vários artigos publicados entre 1943 e 1985 sobre temas muito diversificados, demonstrando que o Autor reunia, simultaneamente, um conhecimento científico aturado da doutrina nacional e estrangeira, um espírito crítico aguçado, uma vasta percepção da realidade laboral e a aptidão para encontrar soluções equilibradas.

The aim of this text is to study the texts of Raúl Ventura (1919-1999), Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and pioneer on the teaching and study of Labour Law in Portugal, including the analysis of both his doctoral thesis (1944), and his teaching materials (Lessons and Summaries), and also of the several articles published between 1943 and 1985 on a large range of topics, attesting that the Author, combined, simultaneously, a thorough scientific knowledge of national and foreign doctrine, a sharp critical spirit, a comprehensive view of the employment reality and the ability to find well-adjusted solutions.
